We are the Student Business Incubator. We take student’s ideas and make them a reality.

We realize that many student entrepreneurs are afraid to develop and pursue their ideas because of lack of business knowledge, time or confidence. We want to promote student entrepreneurship by providing Marketing/P.R., Law, Finance/Accounting, Information Technology, and Management/Operations teams where the teams will thoroughly research student entrepreneurship ideas and provide recommendations on how to pursue it. We hope to give student entrepreneurs the confidence and knowledge to follow through with and develop their business plans.

The Student Business Incubator team is composed of teams of undergraduate volunteers led by qualified SIFE leaders.

If you are interested in this opportunity please contact us at incubator.ufsife@gmail.com.

If you are interested in getting involved with SIFE this semester, there is no better opportunity than to become a Small Business Consulting Volunteer! SBC has been assisting local business owners since 2001, helping them develop business and marketing plans and providing them with a variety of other services. Typically, we form teams of 5-7 students from a range of educational backgrounds (finance, marketing, accounting, etc.). Each team will have a captain from SIFE who will act as the liaison with the business. Depending on the entrepreneur, teams will produce business plans, marketing plans, or other services for start-ups and/or businesses hoping to reduce costs, increase revenues, and enter new markets. If you are interested in this opportunity please download and fill out the SBC Volunteer Application. Please email all applications and any questions to SIFE.SBC@gmail.com. Applications are due Wednesday September 14 at 5:00PM.

UFSIFE was proud to host its 2nd Summer Ethics Case Competition for Warrington Welcome students.  This competition provides freshmen in the Warrington College of Business Administration with the opportunity to apply their ethical reasoning, business analysis, and presentation skills through presenting a corporate strategy to a panel of faculty, staff, and upper division student judges. UFSIFE was thrilled to have 28 teams participate in the competition, which was held on Monday, July 25th.

All of the participating teams gave thoughtful presentations and really showed that they had analyzed the case from both an ethical and a business viewpoint.  This year’s case challenged students to consider the ethical implications of using government “bailouts” to pay employee bonuses.  The teams were divided into four leagues in which one team from each moved on to the final round.  Below is a photo of the winning team.

UF SIFE is looking forward to once again hosting the Warrington Welcome Ethics Case Competition in the Fall.  For more information about UF SIFE or the ethics case competition, contact Josh Funderburke (joshua.funderburke@warrington.ufl.edu) or Darren Constantine, UFSIFE Summer Ethics Program Project Manager, (darren.constantine@warrington.ufl.edu).

UFSIFE is proud to announce a very successful trip to the SIFE National Exposition in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After advancing from the initial round of competition, UFSIFE earned 4th Runner Up in the semi-final round making us one of the top 20 SIFE teams in the United States.

In addition to the achievements of our exposition team, we also earned the Jack Shewmaker Spirit Award. This was a special year to win the award because of Mr. Shewmaker’s passing last year. Mr. Shewmaker was instrumental in making SIFE what it is today, and we are extremely honored we were able to convey a very small part of the incredible spirit he had for the SIFE program in the United States and around the world.

We are proud to announce that UFSIFE’s Jack Shewmaker Spirit Award video entry has been selected among the top three in the nation. The video will be presented during the SIFE National Exposition in Minneapolis. If you missed the video the first time around, watch it below:

After a great day in Atlanta, UFSIFE has emerged as a Regional Champion! UFSIFE will head to Minneapolis, Minnesota for the National Competition from May 10th through the 12th. Check out a few pictures from the weekend below!
